I  am looking for a leadership position in an international school which values student-centered learning and strives for excellence in all fields.

I am an effective communicator with a positive professional presence and a good-humored, “can-do” attitude.

As an intrinsically motivated leader with plenty of energy and a strong sense of methodology and professional accountability I can be trusted to “get it right”.

Productive, consultative, respectful, and happy working relationships are important to me. As an experienced international educator and school leader I have worked alongside colleagues with widely differing backgrounds in education and will work for the growth of any colleague who demonstrates ability, insight and a willingness to learn.

I am a New Zealand-trained and qualified social sciences teacher and am considered an experienced and successful classroom practitioner. My teaching style is participatory as opposed to didactic. I have a friendly yet purposeful classroom manner which all students quickly warm to as it focuses on inclusiveness and respect for the individual. I like to cultivate a sense of urgency in respect of mastering subject content and skills.

I have organised numerous subject-related field trips and have designed and coordinated various whole-school Week Without Walls and pastoral awareness programmes; these have usually included active service components for students such as reforestation programmes, building renovations and the educating of dispossessed children.

I have a flair for design.

I see a school as a living, learning community of students, teachers and parents and I like to see such a community celebrate its successes.
